Welcome to Stage 8 @ The Festival
Stage 8 is a new site created by the folks at The Festival to share things that are digital in form. A committee made of up Staff, Volunteers and Board Members has come together to provide Video, Audio, Photos and anything else we can digitize to share with you, the audience. We also encourage you to share your digital memories with us as well. One of the first things you’ll find on Stage 8 will be podcasts. We have already produced 2 podcasts which will be available here and through the usual podcasting channels (Apple, Odeo) very soon. Stay tuned.

Horay! I’m so thrilled that we’re all finally going public with this project! This is surely a big step for us, and a giant leap for festival-kind (in joining with the digital community, that is). Once this gets going, it will be unstoppable! I am really looking forward to what the audience and artists think about it.

Fabulous start. Let’s get on with it now.
Recording on site for general distribution via Stage 8 within an hour or two of the performance, reconnect the audience to the tunes they just heard and would otherwise almost certainly never hear again, bring revenue to the artist and the Festival through digital distribution, build the community, oh my oh my, here we go.
Some of us have been playing in the digital arts since the ’70s and ’80s (anybody else here remember Digicon?) - now we see the fruition - music with video, near real-time, broad and simple distribution, and a much greater share of the pie for the people who do the creative work.
